Who Signs Minutes for HOA and Condo Meetings?

Here is a simple question about minutes that I received recently:

"Have you ever discussed how the requirement that board minutes be official is accomplished? Do they have to be signed? By the Secretary? President?"

Generally, board minutes should be signed by the secretary of the association. The secretary is usually the person responsible for "taking" the minutes as well. However, associations with paid managers often leave the task of taking the minutes and typing them up to the manager. Even in those cases, the secretary usually is still the person responsible to sign the minutes.
